2014 Ripton Ridge Run

The Ripton Ridge Run is an annual fundraiser to benefit the Ripton Elementary School. It includes a 5K run, a 10.4K run and a non-competitive 5K Fun Walk. There is also a short, non-competitive event for young children. The Ridge Run takes place the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend. All courses start and finish at the Ripton Elementary School on the Ripton-Lincoln Road in Ripton, VT. They traverse roads in Ripton and the Green Mt. National Forest and include water stops.

All donations as well as proceeds from the Ridge Run go to Friends of Ripton School (FORS), a parent/community organization that supports the school. FORS uses the money to fund important school activities not covered by the general school budget. 
Over the years, FORS has assisted in funding field trips, Artists in Residence, summer tutorial and second language programs, as well as supported cross-country or downhill skiing for all students, and sponsored community-wide events like a Thanksgiving Feast, May Day baskets and the spring Grand-friends Luncheon.
