Waiver and Release of Liability:

I, the undersigned, acknowledge and agree to the following as a condition of my participation in the Life In The Vast Lane 5K event organized by the Icelandic Communities Association (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”):

1. Assumption of Risk: I understand that participating in a 5K race involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic, and course conditions. I hereby assume all risks of participating in this event, whether known or unknown.
2. Release of Liability: In consideration of being allowed to participate in the event, I, for myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, and representatives, do hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Organizer, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, and any other representatives, from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action, including but not limited to injury, illness, death, or damage to property, arising out of or in connection with my participation in the event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
3. Medical Treatment: I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary if I am injured or require medical attention during my participation in the event. I agree that the Organizer is not responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result of my participation.
4. Photographic Release: I grant permission to the Organizer to use my likeness in photographs, videos, or other media taken during the event for promotional purposes without compensation. I understand that these materials may be used in various media formats, including print and digital, and may be distributed via public and private media channels.
5. Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver and release of liability and fully understand its terms. I acknowledge that I am signing this agreement freely and voluntarily and intend by my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
