The 811 5K run/walk is a public awareness event that hopes to spread the word about safe digging and damage prevention awareness. A free kids run is scheduled after the race. Participants can also enjoy snacks, water, a variety of safety-themed games and kids medals. All proceeds are donated to the Twin Cities Firefighters Operation Warm, a non-profit organization that provides new, warm winter coats for Minnesota children in need.
