Grand Blanc City Fire Department Association 5K Waiver By signing this waiver, I acknowledge that my participation in the 2022 Grand Blanc City Firefighters Association 5k Walk/Run and/or any pre- and post- event activities (collectively, “the Event”) involves rigorous physical activity and that it may potentially be hazardous. I attest and verify that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the Event. I expressly assume all known and unknown risks associated with the Event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants and objects, injury (including death), the effects of weather, including high heat and humidity, cyclists and motor vehicles who are not entered in this event, the conditions of the course, property damage, and the possibility of contracting a contagious disease. In consideration of my participation in the Event, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, assignees, personal representatives, and successors, waive and release any and all claims and/or causes of action for injuries, illnesses, damages, and or expenses occasioned by my participation in the Event, which I have or may have against the following: (i) Grand Blanc City Firefighters Association; (ii) City of Grand Blanc Fire Department; (iii) Newton Timing & Race Services; (iv) all governmental agencies representing the territory in which the Event will be held; (v) any Event sponsors, sponsor’s affiliates and contractors, and their respective employees; (vi) USATF officials; (vii) any Event vendors, vendor affiliates and contractors, and their respective employees; (viii) any Event contractors, contractor’s affiliates, and their respective employees; and (ix) any officers, directors, affiliates, employees, representatives, successors and assigns of each of the foregoing. By signing this wavier, I acknowledge that professional photographers and videographers will be taking pictures and video throughout the Event. I hereby grant full permission to the forgoing for the use of my name, likeness, voice or picture for any legitimate purpose, including but not limited to a broadcast, telecast, advertising promotion or other account of the Events, without monetary payment to me. I hereby release the foregoing and its agents and assigns from any and all claims which arise out of or are in any way connected with such use. I waive any right to inspect or approve the use of the images or recordings or of any written copy. I acknowledge and agree to abide by any Official Rules for the Event that may be posted at the Event or on the Event’s website. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I understand and agree that Grand Blanc City Firefighters Association, at its sole discretion, may alter the schedule and/or cancel the Event due to weather, (i.e. heat, floods, lightning, etc.), acts of war or terrorism, military conflicts or riots, public health or safety reasons ( i.e. pandemic, epidemic), or for any other reason it determines may affect the safety and security of the participants in the Event. By checking the acknowledgement box, I hereby represent and warrant that I am 18 years of age or older, that I have read all the terms and conditions of this waiver, and I intend to be legally bound thereby. If I am registering a minor child, by checking the acknowledgement box, I hereby represent and warrant that I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor child under the age of 18 years old who I am registering for the Event, that I have read all the terms and conditions of this waiver, and that I have full power and authority to agree to these terms on behalf of the minor child and legally bind him/her to these terms
