I acknowledge that this waiver and release of liability form will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers, including Runnin' for Rhett Non-Profit, Capital Road Race Management, the City of Sacramento, and the City of Sacramento Police Department, in which I may participate and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at this event. I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for participation in this event, and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical physician. I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, and successors. I hereby Waive, Release and Discharge from any claims, losses, or liabilities for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, theft or damage of any kind resulting from my participation in this event. I also grant permission to use my picture in any broadcast, telecast, or photo taken at this event. I grant permission to post my race results at the event and on www.capitalroadrace.com and https://www.runninforrhett.org/. I hereby certify that I have read this document and completely understand all of its contents. I understand that all entries are non-refundable and non-transferable and this event happens rain or shine. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and its variants exist in any public space where people gather, and no precautions can fully eliminate the risk of exposure. By attending MaraFUNrun, you expressly agree to comply with any and all rules and safety guidelines put in place by the event organizers and voluntarily assume all risks and liability related to exposure to COVID-19, which may include severe illness and death. You also agree to waive all claims and potential claims against the City and County of Sacramento, MaraFUNrun, Runnin’ for Rhett, and all affiliated companies relating to such risks. By attending or participating in Run Because You Can, you agree to not attend if any of the following is true for you or anyone in your party.
• Within 14 days before participating in or attending MaraFUNrun, you have tested positive or been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
• Within 48 hours prior to participating in or attending MaraFUNrun, you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking muscle pain/achiness, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19 identified by the CDC)
• Within 14 days prior to participating in or attending MaraFUNrun, you have traveled anywhere subject to travel or quarantine advisories due to COVID-19
