The participant knows and understands the perilous nature of his or her undertaking, as it relates to the loss of life or limb, or to any property damage, including but not limited to, such hazards as boulders and other obstacles, strainers, undercut or entrapping formations, falls, holes, reversals, and other water formations, changing conditions, cold high water, and other hazards.

In consideration of being allowed to compete in the Lake Metroparks Grand River Canoe & Kayak Race, the undersigned hereby voluntarily assumes all risk or damage to his or her person or property and the undersigned, for him or herself, hereby releases Lake Metroparks, its officers, its members and the race organizers and sponsors, as well as any person or organizations owning land adjacent to or on which the race is conducted from every claim, liability, or demand of any kind for, or on account of, any personal injury or damage of any kind sustained by him or her.

I, as the participant of this event, understand that Lake Metroparks is working with the respective health department. In the event that someone that participates in this event and becomes systematic and/or test positive for the SARS Covid-19 Virus in the days following the race, Lake Metroparks will turn over all information of every participant in the corral of the infected individual and anyone that we think may have been in prolonged contact with during this event. This is an effort of the Local Health department contact tracing program. In this situation they may, but not limited to, call you or schedule an interview with you to see what your contact with the infected individual or relationship with this individual was.

Participants must be in good health and symptom free from any illness for at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

Anyone experiencing symptoms, including cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell, we are asking them to stay home and not participate.

Participants must follow all CDC safe distancing guidelines.

The most current Ohio Health Director’s Orders regarding Non-Contact Sports competitions and guidelines thereof will be cited.
