I am aware that particpating in an inline event is a potentially hazardous activity and that I and/or my child should not enter and skate unless I and/or my child is physically able. I agree to abide by the rules and the decision of any event official relative to my and/or my child’s ability to safely compete in this event. I will provide adult superivision for my child to and from the event and during the event if my child is under the age of 18. I assume all risks associated with my and/or my child’s participation in the Apostle Islands Inline Races, including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic, road conditions, all such risks to myself and/or child being known and appreciated by me. I attest and verify that I and/or my child am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the completion of this event. Having read this waiver and release from liability form, and knowing these facts, and in consideration of your accepting my entry and/or my child’s entry, I for myself and/or my child, and anyone entitled to act on your behalf, waive and release the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, Ashland County, Town of LaPointe, all private landown-ers whose property is utilized, race day volunteers, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind from my participation and/or my child’s particpation in this event. 

Race Safety: Helmets are mandatory to participate in the event (Marathon & ALMTH participants must be 10 or older.  Mad Skate participant 8 and older).  Wrist guards, knee and elbow pads are recommended.  Inline Or Quad skaters only.  NO roller skis, ski poles, baby strollers, baby joggers, automobiles, skateboards, bikes, bandits, pets, or little red wagons.  Headphone use is prohibited.

The Madeline Island Public Library is located in the Town of La Pointe on Madeline Island. Madeline Island is one of the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin in beautiful Lake Superior. The library is housed in a school that was built in 1872. The building itself has been moved several times since it was built. It was originally the Bay View School. In 1927 a new school was built and the building  was used as a community center for several years. Then in 1960 the Gary family purchased the building and established the Madeline Island Public Library.  An addition to the back of the building was done in 2003. Our collection holds over 10,000 books and a variety of other materials available for check out by patrons.
