CBD (Corticobasal Degeneration) is a neurodegenerative brain disease that has no known cause, treatment or cure and affects walking, balance, mobility, vision, speech, and swallowing.  CBD is rare, affecting an estimated 2,000-3,000 people in the US.   

CBD is one of several neurodegenerative diseases under the ‘Parkinson Plus Syndromes’ umbrella. Unfortunately since 2016, other families have joined us with a loved one with CBD, PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), or MSA (Multiple System Atrophy). This 5K is being held to honor and support all families afflicted with one of these horrible diseases. Hopes are when a cure is found for one, it will cure all of them.
