Knowing that running a race is a potentially hazardous activity, I enter and run this race certifying that I am medically able and properly trained. I also know that, although police protection will be provided, there may be traffic on the course route. I assume the risk of running in traffic. I also assume any and all other risks associated with running this event including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and/or humidity, and the conditions of the roads.

Knowing these facts, and in consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I hearby for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators or anyone who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release, and discharge Maple Grove Half Marathon, 10K and 5K, Maple Grove Lions, The City of Maple Grove, The Maple Grove Parks & Recreation Department, Osseo Area Schools/District 279, Three Rivers Park District, the counties, cities and villages in which the race is conducted, any other organization associated with the race, race officials, volunteers, any and all sponsors including their agents, employees, assigns or anyone acting for or on their behalf, from any and all claims or liability for death, personal injury, or property damage of any kind or nature arising out of, or in the course of , my particdipation in this event. This release and waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, forseen or unforseen, known or unknown.

The undersigned further grants full permission to the race and any organization conducting the race and/or agents authorized by them to use any photograph, videotapes, motion pictures, recording, or any other record of this event for any purpose.

I understand that my registration is non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason.

Race cancellation and weather policy:

Events may be delayed, shortened or in rare circumstances cancelled, due to inclement weather. This includes lightening, wind, heat, snow, or the threat of imminent severe weather that may harm or injure participants, staff, set up crew and bystanders. Event time frame includes setup, race and teardown. All possible attempts will be made to contact those involved by email, website and social media. No refunds or transfers allowed.

Proceeds from this event will be used to support the charitable activities of the Maple Grove Lions Club, affiliated with Lions International. Lions International is one of the world’s largest service organizations, with 1.3 million members in over 200 countries and geographic areas. A key charitable focus of Lions Clubs is working to end preventable blindness. Through their Sight 1st Initiative, Lions International has restored sight to 7.3 million people through support of cataract surgeries, and prevented serious vision loss for an additional 20 million people. The Maple Grove Lions Club charitable activities include support of the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank, the Lions Sight First Program and Leader Dogs for the Blind. We also support local citizens in need, local food shelves, college scholarships for local graduating seniors. The club works actively donating time & money to further our community and make it a better place to live and work.
