I intend to participate in the Boise River Boogie Race (“Activities”) hosted by the Boise River Enhancement Network (“BREN”) as a competitor, volunteer, or staff member. In consideration for receiving permission from BREN to participate in the Activities described above, I agree as follows: 1. I understand the nature of the terrain and waterbodies and the type of activities I will be participating in, and am capable of safely undertaking the Activities. 2. I agree to take all reasonable precautions to avoid injury to myself and others and damage to the property of others. 3. I agree to comply with all rules and directions for the Activities. 4. I am engaging in the Activities at my own risk, and acknowledge that BREN makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the condition or safety of the terrain or equipment used in the Activities or for any other purpose. 5. On behalf of myself, my heirs, successors and assigns, I hereby forever release, indemnify, and hold harmless BREN, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, agents, contractors, suppliers and affiliated organizations from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses arising from or in any way related to my participation in the Activities. I intend this release to be effective regardless of whether the claim is asserted in negligence, strict liability in tort, or other theory of recovery. 6. If signing as a volunteer, I understand as a volunteer that I will not be paid for my services, I will not be covered by any medical or other insurance coverage provided by the BREN, and I will not be eligible for any workers compensation benefits. 7. I agree to indemnify BREN for any harm or damage incurred by the BREN as a result of my participation in the Activities. I further agree to reimburse the BREN for all court costs and attorney fees incurred by BREN in defending any action resulting from my participation in the Activities. PHOTOGRAPHY I grant to the BREN and affiliated organizations permission to take photographs and video recordings of me and to display, publish or otherwise use any photographs, video recording, or any other media associated with the Activities, including any media which contains my image or likeness, for BREN purposes. I also consent to the use of my name in connection with such images. I release, indemnify and hold harmless BREN, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, agents, contractors, suppliers and affiliated organizations from any and all claims which may result at any time by reason of the use of my image and name, including, without limitation, claims of privacy. My heirs, executors, administrators and assigns shall be bound by this consent and release. By signing below, I acknowledge that I have thoroughly read and understand this form, and that the statements that I have made in it are all true and that I am at least 18 years of age, or, if I am not 18 years of age, the signature and consent of my parent or legal guardian is included below.

The Boise River Enhancement Network (BREN) is a watershed steward group that is dedicated to the longterm health of the Boise River. BREN’s goal is to have an ecologically healthy functioning river that we can all enjoy and be proud of. BREN helps to build partnerships around the river and serves as a platform for stakeholders to implement enhancement projects through collaboration and stewardship.
BREN has assisted with enhancement projects throughout the watershed including one of the first instream habitat projects in the mainstem of the Boise River near Eckert Bridge. BREN has also conducted multiple riparian plantings along the river that serve as wildlife habitat and establish floodplain connectivity.
