The Sue B 5K 10K Walk/Run is held in memory of Susan Elaine Brubaker Newby “SueB” who died in 2008 from a suspicious accident while horseback riding with her husband in the Eagle, Idaho, foothills. After her death, family and friends began to realize that Sue was very likely involved in an abusive marriage. Sue’s close friends and family wanted to find a way to honor her memory and help others who might be in similar situations, and so they started the SueB 5K 10K Walk/Run.

Mandatory Risk Waiver Women's and Children's Alliance participants understand that recreational activities do have inherent risks which are beyond the control of the WCA and its staff, volunteers and members. We, the undersigned, do understand that upon using the facility and/or services that we hereby assume all risks for the behavior, actions, and safety of myself, my minor child or children while involved in the activities. Therefore, I assume full responsibility for personal injury to myself and/or to members of my family, or for loss or damage to my personal property and expenses thereof as a result of my negligence, the negligence of my family participating in said activities, or the negligence of the WCA. I have read and understand this agreement and release of liability, and do voluntarily agree to sign. I also understand that I can be denied access to the WCA if my account is not current. In consideration of my acceptance into the event, I hereby agree that in the event of cancellation of this Fun Run or any portion thereof due to storm, rain, inclement weather, wind, or other acts of God, my entry fee shall be non-refundable. While on the premises of any WCA facility or enrolled in any WCA programs, my family and I agree to act with Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE: I also give the WCA permission to take and utilize pictures/videos of me and/or my family in WCA marketing, promotions, social and print media.
