Waiver: I know that walking and running road races is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by the decision of any race official relative to my ability to safely complete the race. I assume all risks associated with competing or participating in this walking or running event. These hazards include, but are not limited to: falls, contact with other runners or walkers, effects of weather, traffic hazards and conditions of the course, and all such risks, known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releasees or others and I assume full responsiblity for my participation. I willingly agree to comply with all rules and terms and conditions for participating in this road race. If I observe an unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, next of kin, and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, hearby release, indemnify, and hold harmless the race organizers, sponsors, nonprofit beneficiary (PTT Thanksgiving Day Race, Piedmont Turkey Trot), the City of Piedmont, Piedmont Police Dept., Piedmont Fire Dept, Piedmont Unified School District, other participants, and applicable owners and lessors of premises and equipment used to conduct the event, and event personnel associated with the event (Releasees) from any and all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even if that liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness on the part of the Releasees. I also grant full permission for organizers to use my name and photographs or videos of me at the race for any legitimate purpose (i.e. press coverage) If you are registering a child under the age of 18 or an incapacitated adult you represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian of that party and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on their behalf and by proceeding with this event registration, you agree that the terms of this Agreement and Waiver shall apply equally to all Registered Parties. By registering a child under 18, you agree and consent to the collection of that child's information that you provide for the purposes of registration. All participant entries are non-transferrable and non-refundable.
