LIABILITY WAIVER MUST BE SIGNED BY PARTICIPANT: I know that by participating in this event is a potentially hazardous activity. I am medically able and properly trained for the race. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while I am traveling to or from the event, during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event. I assume all risks associated with running, walking or rolling in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, effects of the weather (including heat and/or humidity), traffic and all the conditions of the road/course/paths, all such risks being known or anticipated and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of acceptance of my entry, I, for myself, heirs, executor, and/or anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release USC, W2 Promotions and employees, Mercury Events and employees, Pacific Coast Race Timing, ChronoTrack, all race sponsors, officials, volunteers, employees, the City of Van Nuys, the neighborhood of Encino, the County of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (including Woodley Avenue Park, Anthony C. Beilenson Park/Lake Balboa and Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area), Balboa Golf Course, Army Corps of Engineers, and all government entities, and any of representatives of the above, and succession, from all claims or liabilities of any kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown, arising out of my participation in this event or activities related to this event on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I understand that this waiver includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise. Further, I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, video, or sound recordings, or any other record of this event for legitimate purposes, in perpetuity. I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  By signing, you are indicating that you have read and understand this agreement and wavier and fully understand its terms. You understand that you are giving up substantial rights, including the right to sue. Your acceptance is an unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
