Racers that are age 17 and under will be required to have a parent or legal guardian sign a hard copy of the waiver and release form on site at either packet pick up on 8/26 or before the race on 8/27.
In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Wildcats Run
Wellness 5K on August 27, 2016, an optional and voluntary event, I hereby waive,
release, and discharge Kansas State University, the State of Kansas, the Kansas
Board of Regents, and all their agents, officers, and employees from all
claims, demands, and causes of action of any kind, even if arising from their
negligence, which may arise from or be related to my participation in the
aforementioned event.
I fully realize the risks associated with participation in the
aforementioned event, and I fully assume those risks, including by way of
example, but not limited to: slips and falls; health implications; contact or
collisions with other participants, volunteers, staff, other third parties,
vehicles, and fixed or moving objects; dangers arising from weather conditions,
natural disasters, traffic, uneven terrain, and sidewalk and road conditions;
the possibility of serious physical and/or mental trauma or injury (including
without limitation death) associated with the activities involved; property
loss or damage associated with the activities involved; and possible criminal
activities of third parties.
I also hereby acknowledge that my participation in said event is voluntary,
and I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able, realizing my
own physical limitations and abilities. I agree it is my sole responsibility to
be familiar with the race course, course markings, traffic signs and signals,
and the rules for the event. I agree not to wear headsets, roller blades or
skates during the event. I further agree not to bring dogs onto the race
course.
I agree for myself and successors that the above representations are
contractually binding and not mere recitals. I have reviewed and understand
this release and fully understand and assume the risks associated with
participation in the event.
