By indicating your acceptance, you understand, agree, warrant and covenant as follows:

I know that by participating in this event is a potentially hazardous activity. I am medically able and properly trained for the race. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while I am traveling to or from the event, during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event. I assume all risks associated with running, walking or rolling in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, effects of the weather (including heat and/or humidity), traffic and all the conditions of the road/course/paths, all such risks being known or anticipated and appreciated by me.

The USC Quench the Fire Run~Walk~Roll takes place at both Woodley Avenue Park and Lake Balboa Park which are across the street from each other. The expo and registration take place at Woodley Avenue Park and the running/walking events take place at Lake Balboa Park. There is an underground pedestrian tunnel that joins the two parks. There are also crosswalks that allow for crossing Woodley Avenue legally. I alone assume any and all risks and liabilities if I choose to jaywalk or otherwise cross the street illegally.

Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of acceptance of my entry, I, for myself, heirs, executor, and/or anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release USC, W2 Promotions and employees, Pacific Coast Race Timing, ChronoTrack, all race sponsors, officials, volunteers, employees, the City of Van Nuys, the neighborhood of Encino, the County of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (including Woodley Avenue Park, Anthony C. Beilenson Park/Lake Balboa and Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area), Balboa Golf Course, Army Corps of Engineers, and all government entities, and any of representatives of the above, and succession, from all claims or liabilities of any kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown, arising out of my participation in this event or activities related to this event on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I understand that this waiver includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise. Further, I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, video, or sound recordings, or any other record of this event for legitimate purposes, in perpetuity.

I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

BY INDICATING YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER, YOU ARE AFFIRMING THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE SIGNING THE AGREEMENT AND WAIVER FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY, AND INTEND BY YOUR ACCEPTANCE TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.

As a token of our appreciation for giving to the USC Pain Center and for joining us at the USC Quench the Fire Run/Walk/Roll, we are offering paid participants a 50/50 long sleeved event shirt. Unless prior arrangements are made, you must be present at a pre-race package pickup or at the USC Quench the Fire Run/Walk/Roll on October 16th, 2016 to claim your shirt. Otherwise, your shirt may be given away at the discretion of the USC Quench the Fire committee.

There are a few reasons we put on the USC Quench the Fire Run/Walk/Roll. We are there to create fellowship and camaraderie among those in the pain community, we are there to spread awareness and distribute information about chronic pain, and we are there to raise funds for those that study and treat chronic pain. This is an important piece. We have to get money into the hands of those that are trying to Quench the Fire of those with chronic pain through treatment, research, education, and outreach. Please consider donating a little extra to the USC Pain Center with this transaction.
