In consideration of my participation in the Liberty Lightning 9K on 5/21/2016 (the “Event”), I, for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators do hereby waive and release any and all rights, claims and causes of action I have or may have against the Liberty Lightning 9K, The Liberty Run Foundation Inc., Liberty Run Marines Group Inc., Liberty State Park, Jersey City, Precision Sports Entertainment LLC., New Jersey State Parks, New Jersey Sports Exposition Authority, the State of New Jersey, their agents, employees, all event sponsors, volunteers, race officials, organizers, as well as any other association connected with this event, its representatives, successors and assigns (“Event Organizers”) that may arise as a result of my participation in the Event. I further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Event Organizers from and against any and all personal injuries, damages, losses, causes of action, liabilities and expenses resulting or which may result from my participation in any of the race or walking events on 5/21/2016 and/or the condition of the raceway, property, facilities or equipment used for the Event. I also grant full permission to all Event Organizers to store, use, license and reproduce the use of my name, likeness, voice, image, motion pictures, recordings or photograph of me, in any media or in any manner, including any electronic media for any legitimate commercial or business purposes, including advertising purposes. In addition, I hereby acknowledge that I am 18 years of age or older or, if applicable, that I am the parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of 18 who I am registering for the Event. I recognize the risks involved in my participation in the Event and do hereby expressly assume all known and unknown risks. I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for this Event. Now, therefore, in consideration of the granting of such permission as requested, the undersigned, for him/herself, him/her heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, has released and forever discharged, and does hereby release and forever discharge, the Event Organizers or its agents, servants, and employees, from any and all liability or responsibility for the death, or personal injury to, the undersigned and/or for any and all loss of, or damage to, any property of the undersigned, while in upon, about or near such structure of the premises where such work is located, whether or not such death, injury, loss of damage, shall have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused, by the negligence of the Event Organizers, its agents or employees, the condition of the premises, other work being conducted for the Event Organizers, or from any other cause whatsoever; further for the said consideration, the undersigned hereby undertakes and agrees to indemnify the Event Organizers and save the Event Organizers harmless from and against any and all liability, loss suits, damage, cost and expense, including legal fees, in any way related to the granting of said permission, as requested. If you sign up as Military/First Responder, a formal ID is required. If an ID is not produced a $5 cash will be assessed on-site.

Although no refunds will be given out, the NJ Armed Forces Day Festival, Liberty Lightning 9K will only extend a credit if the race event is cancelled by the race hosting organization.  The credit will be good for any race in the future.  This Liberty Lightning 9K will be conducted regardless of weather conditions, which may include rain, snow, and outside of a lightning storm, any other type of hostile weather conditions.  Lightning storms will require a 30 minute delay after the storm has passed, so be prepared to race. This race event was made by military veterans so plan on running regardless, bad weather builds character and a huge sense of accomplishment.  The only other exception to getting a credit is if you personally cancel up to 7 days before the event. No exceptions will be granted.

This year's design was picked through a competition between the non-profit organizations we support with this community event, organizations specifically geared toward working with children in the community.  The drawing submitted from each organization had to be narrowed down to their top three contestants. We sent the submitted drawings out to be voted on and the winner was selected based on the number of votes.  We are proud to present the winner as the main design for the New Jersey Armed Forces Day Festival and Liberty Lightning 9K official tee shirt.

The Liberty Run Foundation is a Veteran to Veteran 501 c 3 non profit. Providing adaptive sports programs at the community level that enable disabled veterans to engage in outdoors activities and maintain an active life style beyond the recovery stage. Donated funds help provide adaptive sports equipment, logistical support and transportation. 100% volunteer, the veteran mentoring environment has greatly improved the odds of success of ongoing recovery and helps disabled veterans of all ages.
