I acknowledge that a running/walk-ing event is an extreme test of a person’s physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential risks for death, serious injury, and property loss. I HEREBY VOLUNTARILY ASSUME THE RISK OF PARTICIPATING IN THE Half Marathon presented by AdvantageNews. I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows: I WAIVE, RELEASE, DISCHARGE AND AGREE NOT TO SUE, for any and all liability for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or action of any kind which may hereafter occur to me as a result of my participation in the aforementioned event. I fully and completely discharge and release the event organizers, any Sponsors of the event, Big River Race Management, City of Alton, race director, event volunteers and all cities, counties, districts in which said event may be staged or in which segments of said event may be run and its (their) officers, directors, employees, representatives, affiliates, agents and volunteers from any and all harm, injury or damage, whether with respect to person, property or the environment, which arises out of my participation and/or involvement in the event. . I hereby consent to receive treatment in the event of my injury, accident and/or illness during this event. I also agree and give AdvantageNews, the event Sponsors and their affiliates and those acting with their permission the irrevocable, worldwide right to use my name, photograph and likeness in any to inspect and/or approve the finished product, any use to which it may be applied or written material that may be published in connection with it.
