I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I also know that although police protection will be provided there will be traffic on the course route. I assume any and all other risks associated with running this event including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, and the condition of the roads/trails—allrisks being kno wn and appreciated by me. I know that if the event must be canceled due to weather, closure of the venue by the National Park Service, or other unforeseen circumstances, I will not receive any refund in part or in full. Knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry fee, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound and hereby waive or release any and all right and claims for damages or injuries that I (including myself, my heir executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim either in or on my behalf), and covenant not to sue the Event Directors, Chronotrack, Yorktown, York County, York County Schools, The York County Historical Museum, The National Park Service, Mettle Events, Inc, USATF, Race Officials, Volunteers, any and all sponsors, including their agents, employees, assigns, or anyone acting on their behalf, from all and any claims or liability for death, personal injury or property damage of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of or in the course of my participation in this event. This Release and Waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown. The undersigned further grants full permission to the above-named organizations and/or sponsors and its agents authorized by them to use photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event that include my image for promotional, informational, or other reasons deemed to be in the best interest of the event. By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or a parent or  adult guardian for all children under 18 years) having read and agreed to the above release and waiver.
